Skills can be taught, but attitude can not. As an expert in optimizing sleep, I get a lot of questions around this topic. The biggest lesson that one of my coaches shared with me and I want to pass on to you is about selling: “Not being able to sell your ideal solution that will solve the problem of your ideal customer equals failure to render assistance.” Have you ever had a brilliant idea that you tried to sell to your kids, your spouse, your parents, your team, maybe your business partner and they didn’t buy? In life everything is about selling. As a kid we were oftentimes very successful in selling our ideas to our parents and some of keep that skill, some don’t. Training and refreshing our skill to sell is so important, not only for our own survival or for the survival of our businesses. It’s vital also for the survival of our ideal customers. Because if my ideal customer doesn’t buy my service, which is my best solution to their problem, they will go to the next best provider. And they will buy the second best or the third best, the fourth best or maybe the last best solution to their problem. Which means they will get a service on a lower level than they could have. Closing a deal should be just a natural easy-going consequence of a conversation that you had with your ideal client, where they felt that it’s all about them and none about yourself.
